Hi all,
First off i need help. I have a 2004 Base Model 4 Dr Cavalier, with an automatic transmission. I have a few preformance mods but need help. My Cavy is powerful but im being limited by the govenor. Does anyone know how to take it out or is there a by pass chip that i could install. I want to unleash the potential in my cavy. Once my cavy reACHES 108 MPH my transmission shutters and drops my speed down to 95. Please help. Let me know please. I want to legally beat all these dam honda owners on the track.
That is the speed govenor. No one on here will tell you how to bypass it. It was put on these cars for a reason. If you know how to make the car go faster than 108, you would already know how to bypass it. Expect this thread to be locked.
Can you please give me a reason why you need to go faster than your speed limiter allows you? Also, getting rid of it doesnt "unleash the power of the car" lol. You get all the power you need before 108. The ONLY reason you would need to get rid of it is if you go more than 108 at the track, which you dont, so no dice.

You dont need to bypass the limiter yet. You are a long ways away from 108 at the track. Even with a highly modified 2.4 I was only able to hit 90 MPH on a local road course. Willing to bet I was making quite a bit more power that your "few performance mods" Eco. That statement has nothing to do with a Quad vs. Eco debate.
lol...let me lock this for you....when you can do the 1/4 over 108mph you would already have the knowledge on how to remove it.
