NVG swap almost done, cable issue

Marc I hope you're on tonight. I'm almost done with the NVG swap but I'm having a cable issue. Does the extender go like this?

OR does it go inside?

as soon as I get this done I'll be finished!

It goes on the transmission side. Make sure that before you lock down the cable that the shifter inside the car is in N and that its centered. If its to far one way or the either you wont be able to engauge into 1st, and if its to far another way you wont be able to get into 5th.

OK guys still can't get the trans in gear. Well I can get it into a gear but can't get it out of gear once I get it in a gear. Any ideas?
Forgive the lack of propper names but the larger cable goes on the back lever and the smaller one goes on top right?
For instance if I put the trans in N and use the shifter to pick a gear, any gear, it will go into it but I can't get it out of that gear.

Get online man. You need to make sure that the cables are not twisted. You should be able to shift into and out of gear very easily.

Check and make sure that you can move the shift linkage with the cables not attached. This will tell you if the trans is ok. If you can do that, then have someone look at the trans when you try to put it in gear. I remember that my cables were getting stuck by hitting the car. Have someone look and see if the cables are hitting any thing. If not then have them "help" you put it in gear. I have a feeling that you need to adjust alittle more.
