can't get NVG trans in help
Sunday, December 07, 2008 12:21 PM
So after the millionth delay I'm trying to jam the new NVG trans into the Z and no matter what I can't get it in. After looking at it, it seems that there is a support cast into the trans that no matter which way I turn it I can't get it past the subframe. I've pulled the trans in and out about 5 times now and there just isn't enough clearance to get it in. Any suggestions?

We had to trim Chris' Cradle to get it in and out.

45 sec with a sawzall and it popped right in.

Just trimmed a tiny bit, will post pics later.

Pics of trimming, really didn't take much more than the tab off then the tranny fell right in.

I think after fighting the trans a couple of times, a lot of people have cut that off. I did the second time it came out. Now after about 8 times out I can change a trans out in my car in about 3 hours and ready to drive.
