the motor i bought came with a 4t65 on an eco. it was a gm prototype
its not in the car though yet
If I'm weird and everyone else is weird, does that make me normal?

and so does DHL...but more
The 4T65 is too big physically to fit into a J-Body as it sits. There is someone around here attempting to put one in though
I used to race cars, now I race myself.

I tried on my '96 Sunfire. Would have to cut subframe in order to do it. Did not want to mess with this, so installed MK7.

my motor is from that car
That car didn't have a 4T65 transmission in it man. Hate to burst your bubble. GM didn't put the 4T65 into any of the J show cars that I'm aware of because the physical size would have required immense subframe cutting.
The only "J" cars it has been in are the Pro FWD cars IIRC.

That doesn't look like the 4T65e that came with my 3800SC...
see the red dots ? those hold the DIFF cover on , and were only on the 4t60/65e and hd models
and
YES his trans is a 4t65hd bolted up to a eco , 1 of the pictures he didnt post shows the adapter from GM PERFORMANCE PARTS , also the GM DRAG cars had 4t65hd's in them
he is gonna have fun trying to get that into the car. there is going to be some serious subframe cutting and fabricating.
wish you the best of luck in it
any idea what it was designed for? i know they used these engines in bigger cars too (some saturns, malibu ETC) maybe made for a bigger car. also theyre right youre gonna have a big project gettin that in the car but it can work...

Out of curiosity...
Who has tried the 4T65E tranny swap here?
Reason I ask is because I can think of 4 people off the top of my head using them in J-bodies with the 3800 swap. They didnt cut the cradle, they actually added to it, and it fit fine.
Just curious what kind of cutting is required.
im pretty sure theres no subframe work at all the only thing i no is that you have to tilt the motor forward about 20 degrees
theres a huge difference in the length of a 3800 and an eco, the eco is a full cylinder longer since it is all 4 cylinders in a row whereas the 3800 is a v6 and there is 3 cylinders on each side. the eco is quite a bit longer, hence the need to cut i think its about 2 inches the last time i saw and was measuring for a 4t65e with the adaptor plate. would just be better getting a 3800 in it than making a huge project out of an eco with a 4t65 and having to have the entire front end redone.
trust me, there is tons of subframe work to be done
just giving you a friendly heads up from someone who had tried it on the eco
Hmmmm I need to get my hands on one now to see how it goes.
