Ok so i know this is not the best idea but i'm going to probably pick up a tranny from the junkyard that seems to be in good shape and hope for the best because i'm poor and miss driving my car. So my question is. What trannys work with the 2200OHV motor from a 2000cav? will the 97ish cav's 2200 tranny match up?

You'll need a 5 speed from a 00-02 2.2L then... Getrag model. The older transmissions won't bolt up to the mounts welded onto the frame, and the other engine transmissions have the wrong bellhousing for your motor.
It's easier to find a 00-02 good shape transmission, than a 95-99 one though (Isuzu)... shouldn't be too hard!
