after doing some searching would i be right in saying that b&m trickshift atf is one of the favourable oils for warm summer/cold winter driving? and 2 quarts is ok to put in even if it calls for 1.8? any more help to clarrify this would be apprecitated.

If you have a getrag yes. I currently have B&M and it is much better that stock, but Hurst is even better. I always put 2 quarts in as well.

Advance Auto and pep Boys sells B&M, Autozone sells Hurt trickshift. I have not problems in the cold. I'm in FL, so the coldest we usually see is like 25 at worst, but nio issues.

So you guys are saying that Hurst is the best way to go? Is this what you recommend? her http://www.autozone.com/R,NONAPP2209/store,1707/shopping/accessoryProductDetail.htm

Also when you drain, do you just pull the plug on the drivers side of the transmission and let it drain all the way out, or do you flush it somehow?

That does not look like the bottle I buy. I will see if I still have a bottle laying around. Yes pull the drain on the drivers side let it drain all out, then fill.

I WOULD BUY AN EXTRA QUART, AND POUR IT DOWN WITH THE DRAIN PLUG STILL OUT TO FLUSH SOME OF THE OLD ATF OUT....I HAD NEVER HEARD OF ANYONE PUTTING TRICH SHIFT IN A MANUAL TRANNY BEFORE....ALTHOUGH I KNOW FROM EXPIRIENCE IT WORKS WONDERS IN MY 700R4 IN MY TRANS AM.

ANYONE ELSE NOTICE A DIFFERENCE, OR KNOW OF ANY HARM THAT CAN BE DONE??

ALSO ANY PREFERENCE ON REGULAR OR SYNTHETIC TRICK SHIFT?

Will it be an issue if I mix a little of the old fluid with the new? Or should I do what John Benham says and try and "flush" as much of the old fluid out as possible?

I'm thinking it'll be fine if I drain as much as possible, but it never hurts to ask...

^^^ It says you can mix it with dex 3 on the bottle I believe, so I dont think it will give you any problems, but I personally always do if switching from convensional to trick shift....your only buying an extra quart...

The manual tranny in the 2000+ cars requitre ATF from the factory (hence the Trick Shift).

I have never flushed my tranny, and had no issues. Trick Shift and Hurst are compable with Dex3 so you will be fine.

I do know the Getrag calls for "2" quarts of dex3....I just wanted to know if there was any real performance gain from the trick shift....since it seems to me trick shift works mostly with the torque converter to get its affect.

I have tried both, I think I prefer the Hurst a little bit the the B&M, shifts a little smoother.
