I Was just driving home, just left my friends house. an I was slowing down an it wouldnt downshift to 2'nd so i think my rpm's/Speed was too high so i came to a complete stop an an it was alil hard to get in. So i put it in first (What i thought was first) an it took off like i was in 3'rd (i was) an said o lord. put it in 2'nd an drove home. now i had this problem Back acouple years ago. an this was the problem i had before. The mechanic's said i had Snapped my shifter cable. (dunno how i managed to do that).

Got home Popped the hood an looked at the shifter on the trans an you can see where you could tell where the Shifter rod was higher than it was before cause you can see where it had the polished look.... What would be my problem?
