Our sedan is garbage, complete garbage!
'02 LS Sport sedan, completely rebuilt Ecotec @ 35k, now at 55k it's having transmission issues. It started with an innocent issue in which
I posted about here.
Now it's progressed into randomly throwing these codes constantly, not shifting out of either 1st or 2nd and making my life a general nightmare, especially as I'm reading it could be a harness issue. I don't have the time nor money to fix it right now, yet it has to be done in reality.
This helped explain the problems to me, obviously GM acknowledges it but I'm sure they won't do @!#$ about it for me beyond bend me over with no lube.
Anyone experience this before and a possible fix? I'm pissing in the dark here at what to do.
Another reason why I hate auto trans. Thanks in advance.
I cant get the info off of my other comp, but basicly what it says is to inspect the wiring and connectors between the transmission and PCM. All it takes is for one very small rub through or a wire that has been pushed on to hard to cause a huge issue. Wiring repair is a simple 10 min fix once you locate the problem. Its only a bulletin Joe. Its not a recall. Bulletins are just meant to help aid in diag of a vehicle. If 2 cars have the same weird issue you will probably find a bulletin on it.
Manual trans swap time.
I toyed with it as much as possible tonight, it's going into the stealership tomorrow! Yay, luckily the service manager is a good guy and has taken care of me greatly in the past. Hope it holds true this time.
best of luck Joe. If I wasnt across the state I would be headed over to give you a hand.
24 hour mechanic on call for a select few.
..and <3 you for it!
Thanks again for all the advice.
No problem call anytime
9 days my fellow little man.
Fellow little man! Haha!!! I love that.
Us skinny @!#$ have to stick together.
I was having this same problem with mine, after 5 hours of undoing tape and loom I found the problem. About 10-12" down the from the transaxle plug you'll find a factory crimp with 5 pink wires all connected together. Mine was so rotten that when I went to pull the tape off all 5 wires broke apart, there was nothing left of the crimp at all but a bit of rust dust. I spliced them all back together today and all the trans codes are gone as well as 02 sensor 1 code and the the evap code it was throwing.
Good luck!
