So ya 05 Sunfire 5 speed had 1,3,-5 now only 3-5 possible problems? was thinking around syncros burned up because i can still fight it into gear...let me know what anyone has run into..thx

maybe 1-2 shift fork ends are damaged? they are some sort of plastic i believe and are easily damaged. Have you checked the shift cables at the shifter? maybe you stripped the side to side one or knocked it out of alignment and its not letting you go all the way left? Have you checked the linkages in the engine compartment to see if they are in any way bound up, bent or damaged?

i have the same problem i still get 1 st but 2nd don't go in all the time it grind when i let the clutch out i believe its the syncros thats what a guy told me at the trans shop
