Well, seeing that B&M has decided there isnt enough business in the 95-99 j-bodys and dropped that product, what are my options? I know i could buy one from ebay, but they are even 50-80 dollars + shipping! I feel the quality may not be there for that kind of money. I know I could try and hunt down one of the few B&M shifters left, or wait and buy one used. I want to know if anyone knows of any options i have missed? Am i stuck between buying a used B&M, and a ebay shifter? Or are there other brands for the 95-99 cavalier/sunfire?
Nope I dont know of any other brands, it is find a new B&M, a used B&M or a China made ebay one. No one else as a major manufacture has ever made one.

I got lucky and found an orger selling his. I can't wait until it's here.
I'd suggest that route if you can be lucky enough to find someone swapping to a newer Getrag!
Ultrarev.com sells B&M Racing Short Shifter Pontiac Sunfire 1995-1999 / Chevrolet Cavalier 1995-1999 #45166-3 ... i sthis a good buy for 150 basically plus shipping.
considering they have been dis-continued... i would be contacting them to see if they even have any.
if they do, yep... thats the normal price. i was lucky and found a brand new one on ebay for $112 shipped though...

I Bought an Ebay one, pretty much the most Difficult install ever.Had to drill out rivets and trim out factory metal. Then the Centering spring dosent work anymore....
So Yea go B&M or not at all.....
If you don't mind welding, cut it below the fulcrum and add a short piece of metal.
if you do that you stil have to lift the whole bevel assembly to make clearance for the extention.

It's a shame most people will do what you were first thinking I posted.
For anyone who does this you should grind the ends down so they are more pointed, thus giving you a stronger weld as you fill it in than just welding up the seem. Personally I prefer a 7018 rod to mig welding, but that's just me. If anyone knows the difference in length below the pivot point between stock and B & M that would be appreciated.
