Never mind my reasons behind asking this, but does the cobalt F35 bolt into a Eco J?
NO, f23 is a stronger tranny
Im not asking what tranny is stronger, im asking if it will bolt in. I have a secret tranny swap in mind and its not the F35.
Damnit we need a grammar check too.

I would say it would bolt on. You looking at a 6 speed saab unit?
The question you should be asking is..
Will a F35 FIT in my car?
(not without modifications... the case is too large....)
Lenko - Eh its the same thing i was getting at.
If i can just figure out what would need to be done to FIT a F35 into a J, it might help me out alot. Are the mounting points alteast close to the F23? Pictures of the differences would be helpful if any of you have them.
Tom - Its a secert, hence im not gonna tell you. Cuz if it doesnt work out or i cannot get the transmission i want, a "project thread" will be worthless. If i do complete it then i will do a "how-to". But for now its just like everything else on the org, all talk.
the F35 will bolt to the engine, but the mounting locations are completely different. I might be able to get pics of the F35 case, along with the F23 case today (just got a call not to long ago about working on a F35 trans today).

f35 has no mounting locations any where near close for a j , plus the added size of the f35 , youll have to move your steering rack to fit the trans
so basically if you wanna re-engineer the whole front end , it might be possible
Speed - Pictures would be very helpful. As of now i do not have access to a F35 or the trans i want.
he hasnt brought the trans over yet.....
I had some pics saved, from GM press releases..... I'll see if I can dig them up
