Forcing 3T40 in gear...
Friday, April 18, 2008 9:26 AM
Is there anyway to force a 3T40 into 2nd gear? It doesnt shift anymore, but im pretty sure 2nd gear is still intact because everyonce in a while it will. Either the band is junk, or I have sticking valves of the sort. The question is is there a way to force the car into 2nd because I have to drive it 40miles to my garage.

Pretty sure you'd have to modify the valve body in order to do this. Then it would just be wherever your shifter is put. At that point, you might as well just pay for a new tranny.

, as long as the valve body is OK, over reving it will force the trans to shift, it does have a govener in it.

No, doesnt shift. Wont shift. Might be related to the trans governor, but the governor itself is brand new. I think its either in the passages for the governor, or in the valve body. Iv got a new tranny on its way, just need to drive it to my shop.
