Yep, mine broke just a little differently than the rest, but still broke all the way around. Was able to get it to a garage, just rattled like an SOB and dragged the clutch quite a bit toward the end of the trip.
I'm just glad it didn't explode at 7500 rpm or leave me stranded on the highway somewhere.
Knowing this isn't the first time (or even the 5th or 10th or 11ty billionth) a fidanza has broken, I searched past posts. Seems 06 was a bad year for Fidanza flywheels. This is was put in july of 06 and has probably has around 16-18k on it. It has seen the drag strip quite a lot, and a few autoxes, but they shouldn't fail like this repeatedly. Problem is I like the lite flywheel effect, but I don't want to deal with this every 15k. Don't have the money for the UR, and it looks like they only have the stepped one, and I'm not buying a clutch if I don't have to. Anybody know if the actual design has changed since 06? Seems a simple change to the backside hub part could strengthen it considerably.

Did yours make any noise before it broke? Like it sounds like it is chattering or vibrating. I got mine put in, and when I start to get up around 50-60 mph it makes a terrible howling noise. When I push the clutch in the sound goes away, so I'm guessing its that or my clutch, one or the other.
hahahaha another one bite's the dust.
these things are JUNK JUNK JUNK!!!
thanks to your issue i no longer have a spare flywheel.
I dont plan on needing it though.
Spec/Fidanza are the same. I think Fidanza made them but dont recall off the top of my head. They suck donkey dick.

He is correct. They are made by fidanza but sold by both spec and fidanza. I sure as @#$% would not install it in my car. In fact due to the problems Paul Tjepkes had I did not install one during my build. He has gone through 2 of them that broke exactly like that one pictured.
FORGET GIRLS GONE WILD WE HAVE GOVERNMENT SPENDING GONE WILD!
They all break in the same spot. Its a design flaw.
i got a nice new unorthadox. its a perdy penny tho.
I'm curious as to what they are going to say about it....
Paul where did you get that from?
Sucks to hear. I would contact the guy from Spec that comes on here he might be able to help.

Mine rattled becuase of the way it broke. It didn't break all the way around the hub part, it left that section between bolt holes to acutaly drive the car. It did end up breaking between those bolt holes and thats realy when it started rattling. As I drove it more, it got worse and worse, mainly in coast where it was very loud. At the time I didn't know what broke, just kinda figured it was new trans time. The original clue was probably the clutch pedal feel. Normal isuzu/old getrag clutches have a lot of space to go before the clutch starts to engage toward the top of the pedal movement. Mine changed toward fall of last year. Since the flywheel could flex, when the clutch was in, it would push the flywheel toward the engine (as it was spinning!!!) and make the engagment start much closer to the floor than normal. I knew it was wrong, but wasn't loosing fluid in the clutch hydraulics and bleeding didn't help. And no noises till this weekend.

I'm not sure who your refering to, but I do have a call into Fidanza. Their tech line is only open from 2pm to 5pm eastern, and they haven't picked up the phone for the past 3 days I've tried calling, it just tells you to leave a message. I did that today cause its the only day I'm home during that time on a weekday. Of course, no call back.

well the LG0 i compared to my stocker looked identical. Im not even sure if I grabbed the correct one when i picked mine up from a buddies house. He has a 442 W41. They were both next to each other and i couldnt tell which was which.
LG0 should have the holes all the way around it, the newer LD9 one, has the two holes. not a big difference, but still.....

PM this guy
Spec1
He came on here and got trashed about this issue and others. He stated he was aware of a problem on a bad batch a few years ago, but had been fixed/resolved. He seemed very willing to help anyone out. See what he says and let us know.

They looked identical. As far as him and I know it was the origional flywheel in his car.
The issue with them has to be more than just a bad batch as I have seen the flywheels for both Isuzu and Getrag transmissions break in the same spot. Its a design flaw and they just wont admit it.

Might be. I know I have installed a few on both getrag's and isuzu's and no issue's. I know I'm as hard as anyone on my own.
