Manual Transmission will go into gear fine, but when you let the clutch out & go about 1-2 feet, it clunks &
kind of shakes the engine/trans. I have already replaced the lower engine dogbone mount, and included the
upper motor mount insert, so I know it's probably not those. It does this clunk/shake in ALL gears too though.
So I'm almost thinking worn out Transmission Mount Bushings could be a possibily? They do have 104,000
miles on them.
Seems like the clunk comes from the left front area of the car...
Any thoughts or suggestions on how to check the mounts or where else should I be looking at?

Check the mounts. When I wore out a set of poly mounts it did a similar thing.
I just ordered some Car Customs Front / Rear Transmission Mounts (5 Speed Manual) [CC-0009]
from Karo @ Car Customs.net. So when those arrive, I am going to put those in & see if it corrects
the condition that I am experiencing.
Anyone else experienced this before????

I havent, but the mounts are a good place to start. I have 57,000 on my 03' and my mounts are starting to look alittle worse for wear. Jack the car up and look under it. You can check the mounts visually for rips, tears, and dry rot.

No, the getrag will be pretty easy to bolt in, no need for another shifter assembly, cables etc.
The only modifycations that has to be made (IIRC) is you have to drill out the rear mount, and make a small extension bracket about 1.5 inches on one of the shifter linkages.

I dunno. If I'm going to do that then I almost would want to swap the engine to an Eco as well.
The aftermarket support is a lot larger for the L61 Ecotec.
I dunno............hate being left in the dust after they quit producing the LD9....as far as the aftermarket
is concerned........

New Front & Rear Prothane Motion Control Transmission Mount Bushings just showed up. Thanks Karo!
New Sway Bar Bushings & Link Kits just showed up from Summit Racing today also. One for the Z24, one for the Sunfire GT.
The Sunfire GT has a broken left front link, so I figured I would just upgrade both cars.
Then I still have the Prothane Motion Control Arm Bushings to install into the Z24 as well.
I Should know more about the condition of the transmission tonight.

Thats great, I have the identical car with the identical problem. This should be fun.

Let us know what the problem is when you look at the old tranny. If i had to guess a trans problem for this i would say one of the shaft bearings.
But i'd have to drive it to have a better idea.
I'd say the diff is toast....

I have yet to get some GOOD pics of the carnage. But I can tell you one thing.
The Magnetic speedometer sensor was covered with a little more than an inch thick of metal shavings.
NOT GOOD
Peeking inside the hole where this sensor sits with a flashlight, I see the spider gear teeth are hacked up & busted to hell.
Might crack it open for some pics before I return it to get my $300 core charge back.
