Please post exactly what they are doing or have them post this info as it relates to the auto trans in our cars. Mine is a 5spd but I am still curious. I have a good idea what they might be doing as I am ASE certified in transmissions

well if look at other automatics i mean a 700-r4 is like 1780 dollars also having a shop that
does our transmission make life alot easier when my trans dies i realy don't want to have the dealer do it
because i don't want to be a rape victim again like i had the supercharger installed. Also if this guy is good think of the other things like diff installs, torque convertor instals. i mean look at his shop maybe could even get big transmission pan.

i mean the GTP trans is going to set you back 2000 dollars

oh trust me im not knocking the amount of work or quality involved, just pointing out the fact that its not going to be affordable and most wont be able to even come close to getting there.

Rollin' on question marks since 07.

The only thing I've ever been able to find for the 4T40E is the Raybestos Powertrain Parts (see pages 38-39 / 80). They have the Blue Plate Special Gen2, part number RCPBP-29 Clutch Pack Module. This is their all out race set-up. They also have the Stage-1 Performance pack, part number RCPS-29, this is a performance street set-up, a step between the stock tan kit and the Blue Plate Special kit. As for controlling the shifts and shift points, use a B&M ShiftPlus or HP Tuners.

As for torque converters, GM stock (and rebuilds) are available up to 2975 rpm stall (IIRC stock was 2375 rpm). Problem is most of the TCs up higher in the stall range don't have the heavier TCC clutches that came stock (some are there, you just have to search harder to find them). Most after market ( read: custom built) have heavier than stock clutches, if it's a reputable builder,. Remember, you'll pay a premium price for a premuim TC. More info on TC see Stock Torque Converters, 3 Speed gears and More I wrote previously.
