So here it goes......

I went to my mechanic becuase something was growling blah blah blah, its my tranny. He said if I want to buy one private, I need to make sure that it is the Same year (96) and a LS model. The reason was (I forget a little) either bolt patteren on the housing or something to do witht his size of it.....................now if your lost, so am I.........................my question is, are other years 96-99 the same size trans fit? Or where could I find out without taking it back to the shop.

I have a 96 cavy 5speed, LS 2door.

UPDATE< Found a new tranny for a great price! - Delete!

well anyway, you could've gotten a trans from any 95-02 j that had your same engine in it. only problem would have been from an 00-02 car, a new mount would have been needed to be welded in. but since you found one...
