Yes, but you will need to weld in the mounts for the 5 speed tranny. You might also have to cut the auto mount off the frame rail as well.

you're looking to swap a 99 engine into your 98 I take it?

all my ecos i put in my car were originally attached to autos. the only thing you have to do is swap the flexplate for a flywheel and put a clutch on it, etc etc

If you're putting a manual in an auto car, isn't there a pcm problem b/c the computer looks for the transmission and can't find it?
I don't have any experience that way, but I've heard this and it makes sense.... maybe someone with more expertise than me can fill in that little piece of info....

You can run a manual car with a auto ECU. It will throw codes because it does not see the auto tranny, but will run the car fine other wise. It will also idle like a auto at 650RPM's.

thank-you all for the replys

what i got is a blowen 98 2.2l that has an manual trany, what i am doing is puting in the 99 2.2l that has an auto trany on it

so i want to put my manual trany from the 98 on the 99 2.2l and drop it in the car. will the manual trany bolt right up to the 99 engine or do i have to mod it to fit on.

just pull your blown engine, and replace it with the working 99 engine. its the same EXACT engine, no differences WHATSOEVER.
