Help Finding Rebuild Kit for Getrag F23

Does anyone know where i can get rebuild kits for the getrag f 23. I've looked online with no luck. Don't mention the dealership unless you believe it is the only option.

Links would be greatly appreciated.

Depends what your lookign for but id bet that it would be easier to find a junk yard one and get new syncros and such? Just my best thoughts.

I'm asking because i have one from a junkyard that i want to freshen up. I have all the procedures printed out detailing the disassembly and reassembly. I'm going to make some phone calls and see what i can come up with. If i find anything i'll be sure to post all the details. However, if someone does have useful information, PLEASE POST.

Try a local trans shop that specializes in manual trans rebuilds... they can usually get you a rebuild kit.

not to bad... at the most you need shif forkes and some syncs.... but ya i can buy F23's for 300 all day with 30K or less, and from a eco, so it has the "revised" locker rings.

Could you send me a link? I just purchased a trans and i picked it up today from FedEx frieght and it is from a 2001 grand am and it IS a f23 but the bolt patter for the trans to engine isnt the same. I want to call it a bellhousing but it isnt. So what are my options here. It is definetly a f23 but the case is differnt.
So i need to return this trans so could someone send me a link to a trans please. Whenever i use car-part.com the prices are always above 400 dollars and have over 50k miles on them.
And could you send me a link to this LHQ smartparts place. I need a trans ASAP.

Well the F23 was used on the ecotec and the quad... so yeah differences do exist. 2001 would be an F23 for a quad

Do the internals swap out?
So i can take the internalls out of the new trans and put it in my old case?

the internals swap out just fine. The only real difference is the actually housing. and bellhousing.

the ONLY diffrence that will matter with changing them out is the bell housing. but i would get a 03 or newer if i were to get one.

the F23 you got is more than likely from a 2.2 OHV,

swap a 3800 in it, it will bolt up to that!
