im very soon going to try to change my clutch and rear main across a max of 3 days. is it possible to do it this way:
- pull the cv shafts
- disconnect the master cyl.
- remove the crossbar directly under the trans
- unbolt trans and drop
or is there an even faster way? i was, shall we say, nearsighted when i did my engine rebuild and didn't change the slave cyl. so now, since its leaking,it kinda (im thinking) ate my rear main. i've never dropped the trans before, i tok the engine out through the top.
any other ideas?

well you can either pull up the the motor and seperate them from eachother but its easier to drop it put the front on stands pull the hubs apart and pull the axles out and take off the mounts from the tranyit will give u more room to wiggle it out have someone seperate the top with a pry bar while someone is in the drivers sife feneder and pulling it through just be careful it shldnt but it may drop thats how i did it my second time its alot easier then pulling everything
"how do you get in"
not a big job...about 8-10 hours working on the ground.... you dont have to pull the hubs....but if you would like a more detailed explaination i can give you one, or provide you with information from some service manuals.
lol so i was alittle late, just dont really pay much attention to this place anymore. good to here there wasnt to many problems
