Cosmo Racing Short Throw

I found this short throw for $74.

I know that everybody says you get what you pay for, but in this case it's roughly the same price as the Fidanza short throw, except it comes with a shift knob. I was planning on getting the B&M short throw, but it's $140, and why pay double if it's basically the same thing.

I'm just wondering if anybody has the Cosmo short throw and how they like it. If it's pretty much the same thing than I might as well save myself $70. Thanks.

I know its not what your askin but i say spend the money and get the B&M. I put one in my 96' 2.2 cavy and i loved the freackin thing. Its a A++++++ product. Just be careful i think i heard somewhere that the cheaper(ebay) shifters can break off. I know i saw a guy do it to a factory shifter on a Lamborghini(tv). Could anyone else back up my statement?

I have the cosmo and it works great, however, the chrome finish on the knob is actually turning a copperish color where my hand is.

speaking of the b+m,

how is it to drive, I have not driven a cav with a short throw, I kinda like where my hand sits factory, but will it make the shifts feel better, and what about force(will it be harder to get it in gear), and how much lower is it actually?
thanks steve

Your hand will sit lower, but i actually found the new position to be much more comfortable that the stock position. I followed the directions with the install and didnt cut corners and the shifts felt the same except they were alot shorter. 28% reduction really makes a difference. I highly doubt this but if u are gonna be around the Scranton, PA area let me know and i'll bring my old cavy w/ the B&M short throw and let you drive it to see if you like it.
