I need some help! Clutch line

Hey folks, I'm on my last nerve with this thing and I need some input.

Firstly, 2004 Cav 5spd. The other night my clutch line from the master cyl to the trans decided to start leaking after chafing on the harness connector for what i would guess was the last three years (well thought out GM). Anyway, I took off the old one yesterday, went pretty easy, bought a new one today and started to reinstall it. I got the end that connects to the master cylinder in without too much hassle, but the larger end with the bleeder built in is aparently impossible to get in. It seems no matter what way I try to get it it just wont go. The "U" shaped clip is the problem. If I try to do it with the clip in place first then push in the male end it only goes so far then no matter what it wont go any further. And if I try to push the male end in first then put the clip in it is the same thing, the clip will not go into where it should. I know it seems like the obvious answer would be "it goes on just like it came off", but that way or any way its just not going. Im pretty sure that this is something at least a few people have had to deal with at some point so please if anyone has any tips on this or knows of a special tool or what the trick is to it i'd be extremely grateful. Thanks in advance, Chris

yup. i've run into this problem personally. had to have a gm mechanic friend show me how it actually goes on. you're probably off 90 degrees or so. try a different angle, at some point it'll go on.

14.82 @ 97 mph

There is a notch that the line has to go in to. Make sure that is lined up. Also put the clip on first, but make sure you hold it down so the clip doesnt fly away. If you still need help i can get some pics later...

Yeah thanks for the replies guys! I Actually just got it the other night, and that was the problem, I had it off about 90 degrees or so. I think the prob was that I took it off in a rush and didnt work on it again until the next night haha. Thanks again anyways.
