Ok, so i am having my tranny rebuilt (4T40e) and i am going to install a new torque converter, the factory one sounds good and all but i have found a high stall converter on ebay. i would like a few of you tranny experts to tell me if this is garbage and should stay away from it or go with it. Also i cant seem to find a yank converter but im sure i cant afford it anyway... heres the link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cavalier-Sunfire-Cobalt-Racing-Torque-Converter-Ecotec_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ63692QQihZ011QQitemZ320162939989QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V

ok, the pic on top is the new b&m unit that can be dissasembled and altered without the use of a plasma cutter, tig welder, and a balancing machine. I have a hard time beliving that A)with how new it is they would offer it for the 4t40 trans and B)for anywhere near that price.

the pics towrd the bottom look more like something you would be getting.

never heard of those guys though. I know b&m and yank used to make converters. you might be able to order a custom biult one from precision industries.

you can try them if you want. its only 170 with shipping, but then if it doesn't work you have to pull the motor and trans out again to replace it.

your call
