Manual Swap
Monday, August 06, 2007 10:46 AM
Ok I been doing some digging and so far I can't come up with a trans. A Saab 6 spd is out cause the cheapest one I found was 1500 from a yard. I have a list and print up from another site on what needs to be done to bolt up a manual but I need to know what do I do about the wiring? What must be changed to make my stock harness work?

i dont know a whole lot about tranny/engine stuff, nor do i claim to, but i thought the 4T40E was the only tranny that would drop into the eco without having a bunch of custom pieces made to make ti work.

Thats the trans I got now but I want a stick I know I can buy or make mounts for it and what parts I need but wiring and making it work in the car is my next concern

ahhh, i gotcha now. i looked into this a year or 2 ago. if i remember correct, you would need the tranny itself(obviously, lol) i think the ECU, pedals, and now im drawing a blank on the other pieces. ill see if i cant find some more info on it

i know all the components but I was hoping I could find someone who did it so I could have a first hand guide

look for john lenko he did a manual swap, along with kardain on an second gen i think. also look in the library under FAQ section and there is a good write up in there that applies basically to many manual swaps of stuff you need.
