My auto tranny has about had it, aftermarket?

Well, the tranny in my '03 cav Ztype is about to kick the bucket, once in a while it slips between first and second, sometimes REALLY bad.

First off, any cheap ways to fix it?

If not, I'm not really too worried about buying a new tranny. BUT, I'm planning on hooked up nitrous in the near future, and would like an upgraded unit that could handle a few extra HP.

Thanks guys.

Auto or manual?

If its an auto, start saving up for a new one. If its a manual its probably your clutch.

Shifted......Come on....
Have you ever changed the trans fluid and the filter? If you haven't, change it. It's a hell of a lot cheaper than a trans is, and might fix your problem.

My auto did the same thing, exactly the same thing, it was the clutch packs, and is why my car is now a 5 speed...

Yes, I have changed the fluid and filter, that's how I found out my tranny was REALLY wrecked. There were chunks and shavings of metal in the tranny fluid. It didn't screw up for a while after that, but a few weeks later it started doing the same thing. Could I fix it for cheaper, or do I need a full rebuild? I'd rather have the 2500 bucks for mods instead of a new tranny, but the cost really doesn't bother me. I'd really just like a built up stock unit since I'll be running 75 extra hp through it once in a while.
