is the 5spd tranny out of a regular 2000 cavalier the same as a 2000 z24? or what about a 97? in 97 where the 5spd tranny's the same between the regular cavalier and z24?

sorry i meant the 2.2 and 2.4. i read another post that said the bellhousing bolt pattern is diffrent...is this true?
The 2.2 transmission will not bolt to a 2.4, and the 2.4 transmission will not bolt to the 2.2. Even more than that, the 2.4 transmission from 99- will bolt to a 2000+ 2.4, but the mounts on the body and a lot of the cables are different.

what about a 5spd the tranny from a 2.3 h.o. motor? what will that fit?
is the 5spd tranny that came in the 2.3ho motor pretty strong compared to the 5spd that came in the 95-99 or 00-02 z24 tranny?
What is wrong with your tranny that you are looking for another one? You can use any 2000+ manual tranny in your Z24, but the bellhousing will have to be changed.
