ok, so the short story goes like this.......i had to add a tranny cooler to the car, so in that process i lost some fluid. so now that its low, how do i go about afdding fluid? i read to have the car warmed up first, but is it ok to start the car if i have little or no fluid in the tranny? note this is an auto tranny. whats the best method to go about this? thanks
have fun , the autos suck
you need to have the car up in the air and level , remove the site plug on the pass side of the trans near the axle
most coolers take roughly about 1qt to fill , depending how much you lost in doing the job , so id toss about half into the trans , through the TINY little red plug on the top of the trans
engine at normal operating temp , and engine running , fill tell fluid dribble out the site hole , make sure to run the trans through the gears a few times
i appreciate that! ill post my results
yeah its no fun with out a rack or deep pit
ok, i think i found the plug you're talking about(right above the axel), but i cant get the damn thing off for the life of me. only tool i can think to use is a crescent wrench since it has that flat surface(technical term, lol) like bolt
any ideas or pointers?
