nvg question
Monday, July 16, 2007 3:28 PM
i want to go with a nvg tranny later this year and i found some new one from a seller on ebay.
but i would need the front mount i think?? and the intermediate shaft with axle to have equl length axel.
today when i was at the junkyard, i found a grandam with the quad engine. it was a 95! and it has a manual tranny with equal lenght axels. would this work on the nvg? or it has to come from a nvg??
thanx

There was a write up on how to do it, but I can't remember who wrote it ( Cavfan comes to mind )

This is something I am thinking about doing as well

It should probably be re-wrote with pics and made a sticky................then again we can't even get the 2.3 oil pump swap a sticky, LOL!!!

im running the intermediate off a 96 z so the 95 u could get should work. i also have a weird axle set up idk how it worked but it did. i did the swap straight from bein auto and i used the drivers side auto axle on the pass side with the intermediate shaft after doin my 5 speed swap and idk i forgot what axle im running on my drivers side lol

all quad 4 jack shafts will work. the one im running is form my GTZ, and the one in my GTZ is from a 1996 Z24.

OK, so reading thru this and another post; i have found a 92 G-AM with a Quad motor and a 5-spd. It has the external slave cylinder, and the RPO code is UAD and the trans model identification number is M32. Now, is that the NVG-550 trans i should be looking for ?--as long as it has the front trans mount by the bellhousing.....

This is what the Chevrolet dealer told me, but i can't find an RPO listing for UAD anywhere to find out what it is, and if i type in M32 as the RPO; it says it's an isuzu trans. I was told the M32 was the style-not the RPO. Guess i could jus go back to the yard and look.....
