Me and my dad has, had this Huge Discussion on if the Z24 tranny will bolt up to the Ecotec Motor and i dont think it will. Can you point me to some info if you can or not? And What is the reason why they cant bolt up, he Sayd any 4 cylinder tranny from GM can bolt up to any 4 cylinder Motor form GM. Let me know ASAP, i am betting him. He Says, why are you listening to your Friends ("You Guys") cuz they dont know what there talkin bout! Please Prove him wrong

Different bell housings on the transmission. The internals may all be the same but the bolt pattern on the bell housing is not. Look up the interchange information in the hollander guide. Or even look on ebay for used transmissions and see what years and motors are interchangeable.

Will not fit. I have either a 2200 or ecotec 4t40-E from a 2002, and I'll be using the internals from it in my 99 4T40-e 2.4 "LD9" case.

I have some transmitions let me know if you need anything and THEY ARE NOT interchangeable look at the bell pattern or bring a piece of cardboard and outline them with both bells on it and give it to him and make him feel stupid so that you don't have to buy it..

the only 2 that have interchangeable bells but the mounting points are different are F23-L61 and F35-LSJ.
