i am swapping a 2000 getrag into my 97 cavalier 2.4L, my left cv axle fit fine but when it came time to put in the half shaft the holes on the bracket are not lining up with the block, I thought i read something that the axles inter change from the isuzu to the getrag? is everyone just using the 2000+ half shaft?
well i got the newer cv shaft, don't know how strong it is compared to my old one, this new one does not bolt up to the block. I brought the car for a drive and i did not get the car going faster then 30km. I seem to be hearing a noise or a vibration not to sure, and my abs light is on now, not sure why that is, everything is hooked up properly. is it possible to get the abs light on if the brakes are not bled properly, it's not even funny how long it took me to get it so oil was coming out of the bleed screw. I had the brake lines disconnected for about a month. I am a little discouraged on how the car drove maybe that noise i am hearing is a possible stuck caliper, i had the car sitting for about 8 months before i replaced the tranny. I also noticed that when i cracked the bleed screw it was still hard to press down on the brake peddle.
