Proof positive that the getrag F23 can handle all kinds of torque

Well I got ahold of Phantom grip yestereay and they have agreed to make a custom application for my needs this year. I had to pull the diff out of my tranny last night so that I can send it off to Florida today. I figured this would be a great time to take some pics of the tear down to see what if any damage there would be after 3 years and over 30,000kkms on the tranny. For anyone who doesn't know my car it makes well over 300 foot pounds of torque at 1500RPM and has now for the last 3 years so if there is a problem with these trannies handling power this tranny should show it! On to the pics....

So as you can see there was no metal on the speed sensor, opening the case there was no metal in there, checking the magnet in the bottom of the case and there was a very small amount of metal (normal), checking all the gears and no missing peices or even a worn gear. The diff itself looks pretty much brand new, there are a few scratch marks on some of the spider gears but absoutly nothing to worry about. So in conclusion this is positive proof that these trannies can take a lot of power and be just fine with it. For everyone who says that these trannies are junk and they blow up because they can't handle hi power.......Learn how to drive!!!

Why are you going with Phatom Grip and not the Team Green insert (which is the same as Phatom Grip), and maybe evena little better.?

I'm an authorized dealer for Phantom Grip, that and they told me that they would rebuild my diff at no charge.

you can get stiffer springs for the PG unit through them. when i had it installed my PG unit in my izuzu it worked GREAT and it had the regular springs that came with it. so i dont see how you could have even better, but they do make them... IMO the stiffer springs would be better for say only drag racing and hard auto Xing, idk how they would be for the street, my car was a completly different ride with the PG installed.

From my understanding there is 3 sets of springs PG has. Yellow, Green, and Red (not saying this is the correct order for stifness). Also from my understanding with SpeedRacer re-did the PG insert and made his own version he is using stiffer springs than PG.

Now I have a Team Green insert. Love it!!!! No side affects on the street, and I can corner as hard as I like!!! I'm in no way saying the PG unit is no good (I have never tried it), but I love my TG unit. I was asking a question and it makes total sense now why he is going with PG. I would as well if I was in his shoes.
