I have a non-stock setup using a MK7 Isuzu. I am changing from an older type Isuzu with the external slave and fork TOB (throwout bearing)
My new slave/TOB has the plastic tywraps. After the first use and the tyraps snap will the TOB return to its present position?
What should the distance be from the TOB to the pressure plate fingers be?
With my measurements I have 1/4" from TOB to PP fingers.
Is this too far and will I need to get it closer with a spacer?
Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.
Does anybody know what the distance from the pressure plate fingers to the throw out bearing should be?
unless im mistaken... that should just "kiss" each other..... if your using a clutch thats made for that tranny it should be no problem.
1/4 of an inch..... idn that shounds bad.... maby the presher plate is smaller than one for a internal slave.....

Thanks for the input. I thought it seemed far but I needed some verification from you guys that use this setup. I have been lurking around this forum trying to find some answers on this. My last tranny MT2 Isuzu lasted about 30K miles, I'm hoping this one will do just as well. This tranny is mated up to a 96 LT1 Corvette motor. Got pics if interested
Thanx again

Contact DropTopPaul - he did the external isuzu conversion and got it all working nicely.

Slowly but surely may some day win this race...
He went from internal to external.
I'm going the other way.
Woa that sounded wrong. I need to convert an external slave to a internal slave.
