Ok, here is the deal. I replaced the 2.4 on an 01 Z24 yesterday. When it was out, I took a quik look at the throwout bearing, everything seamed ok. So i put the new engine in, started up great, runs well, problem is, that it wont go into gear when the car is running. If you try shifting into gears, the engine tries to stall. Also, the car will roll forward in 1st gear with the clutch all the way down. I bled the clutch, still the same thing. Im thinking the throwout bearing is fubared. Any other ideas? I wanna get this car back to the guy since he doesnt have another car.
I have the EXACT problem lol. Clutch isn't disengaging at all.
I am pretty sure its the slave, well slave is attached to the t/o bearing anyway. I talked with a few mechanics and thats what they told me. I am just gonna buy a clutch kit and install it. I figure I might as well just get a new clutch while im at it since the clutch I got has like 30k on it.
Im ordering the clutch kit tomorrow. And as soon as I get it ill install it. Could I leave the axles in the trans and drop the trans, or would that damage the axles?

Are you both sure all bolts on the pressure plate are tightened?? I had this happen on my 01 Z24. My bolts on the pressure plate were backing out.

Pressure plate bolts were fine, flywheel was fine - it ended up being the throwout. Replaced and all is well now.
