2.2 non-eco 4T40-e and 2.4 4t40-e

What are the differences between the two. Can I use the 2.2 internals in my 2.4 housing? I purchased a 2.2 from a guy that I was told was a 2.4 4T40-e , and he will not refund my money, but I did get it for cheap, and I know it has 50,672 miles on it. I saw what was left of the wrecked car it came from. Any help would be GREAT.

As i understand it the 4t40e is the same inside for all cars. The only difference is the bell housing and bolt pattern. So yeah, you can swap the internals if you like. They are identical.

Eric and Ethan thanks. That is what is what I was thinking. I just wanted to conform it.

hmmm, it'd be nice if this tranny you got has lower gear ratios etc, kinda like the differences between the izuzu 2.2 and 2.4 5spds...

thatd be frickn AWESOME if they were, id jump right on that frickn swap immediatly, nothing would help our auto cars out more than having lower gearing in the bottom gears... can u say BETTER launches!!!!!!!
