does anyone know the gear ratio's and final drive ratio for:
96 2.2L Isuzu 5 speed
01 2200 Getrag 5 speed.

I don't know for sure, but i think they're pretty much the same gear ratios.

^^^ thanks. So is that why the J's with the Getrags feel like dogs in 1st gear? or does the final drive ratio difference make up for it?
What i'm trying to ask, and i dont know how to read those gear ratio's 100% but it seems like the Isuzu tranny is geared steeper and thats why the J's with isuzu tranny seem to have better low end off the line power??
The 3.94 FDR makes for quicker acceleration...... but you could also be compairing the OHV motors.... 95-97 had the 2.2, where 98+ had the 2200..... different HP and Trq ratings for them.
Also, the Isuzu does have a bit higher 1st and 2nd (again, on the OHV motors), so it could make up for the lower FDR. But again, they are OHV motors, so in stock form, neither are going to be screamers.

how bout the 2.2 isuzu compared to the 2.4 isuzu?
i've had both sets in my z and i like the 2.2 a hell of alot better. im just looking for some numbers for future bragging
