I finally put 500 miles on my new Spec stage3 (6 puck ceramic) today and got to get on it full throttle. Felt great, barked second hard, and third...............squeeked? Sounded almost like an old V8 with a loose V belt. It was just for a second when I dumped the clutch in third. Tried it two more times with the same result.
Is this typical or should I be worried? I know it's aligned because I used the tool, fluid's good, and it hasn't made any noise at all during break in. Thoughts?
My 2000 Z will do that too dumping the clutch into 3rd gear with the stock clutch. I believe it is belt sqeal.
I thought it sounded exactly like that, but thought that the belt couldn't be slipping on a serpentine setup. Guess I might be wrong. Anybody else have this?
Sometimes when turning a corner and I let out the clutch in second, I'll get a little squeak. Was never sure what it was. I only have about 11,000 miles on the stage 3, and am hoping it's nothing major.
