izuzu?-Getrag?

Hello, this might be just another stupid swap question, but I've done my homework on this one, just want some advice.
I've got a 96 2dr 2.2ohv, It started off as an automatic, right now the entire car is stripped down ready to be built, I'm swapping in a 5speed manual, (I know it's not worth it) but I'll be keeping this car for a while, and pulling a tranny from a junker isn't going to cost much. I know that I need the mounts, linkage, ect from the manual, but my question is this

95-97 2.2 manuals are the izuzu tranny, if I pull a manual from a 98-02(getrag) it'll still bolt up but do I need to go ahead and pull the entire harness inside and out? I know for the izuzu i only need the ecu from the 5speed and engine bay harness. With a getrag do I need to "pull it all"?

Please don't get mad about this question I just want to make sure before I go tranny hunting next month, I want to get everything I need the first time around, no going back to get additional parts.

95-99 is the izuzu and 00+ is the getrag. It would be easier to get the engine bay wiring for a getrag car so it would be plug and play. truly you could use your factory harness but some cutting and splicing would be needed.

So pretty much it doesn't matter? Same list of needed parts right. The tranny, mounts, harness, linkage, plumbing, and ecu. I know that during the auto to manual swap a few different things need to be done. Would it be pretty plug and play if I removed all the wiring from the doner car. Engine harness, all the inside dash, lights, ect. I know that I'd have to make some new connections with my inside harness if I leave it in, but I'm thinking about just getting the entire harness inside and out from the doner. Would that work?

id STAY FAR FAR FAR AWAY from the isuzu trans... they like to grenade diffs out of nowhere. find yourself a nice getrag and be done with it. while your at it pick up a Team GREEN lsd insert. It will be well worth the money spent on both teh Getrag trans and lsd insert.

I'd dig around for a 00-02 2200 Getrag trans, since its going to be the same amount of work as the Isuzu, might as well go with the stronger trans, plus you get a better gear ratio out of the deal.

so yea, Trans, Axles, Clutch, Flywheel, Hydrolic assembly (master, slave, pedal), and pig tail/connectors for the reverse light switch and VSS, Trans mounts and brackets (front can be picked up from TurboTech Racing, rear from GM).

Piece of cake, I've done it a few times now.

sounds good i'll go with the getrag. I know its the stronger tranny, i just wasn't sure how much more it would add to the swap, as far as the reverse light goes is it just a pig tail with a switch, where is it located on the doner?

The auto has the shifter lock cable running to the steering column, with the manual swap can I just ditch that cable and leave nothing in it's place, or is there something that I need to replace it with. This is my first tranny swap and I just want to make sure it goes as smooth as possible. I'm 100%confident as far as the tranny, axles, pedals, plumbing, engine harness, and linkage goes, Just want to know what final procedures there are with the swap,

If you could just point me in the right direction for the reverse light and the "clutch button", the one that makes sure you push the clutch in before you can start the car. Other than those two things I think i've got it,

I appreciate everybodies help with this and bearing with me, i know alot of people post the "can i do a auto to manual swap" I've done alot of research just need to know what all I don't quite know as of right now.

Just so you know, the car is about 2hrs away from completly gutted. I've got the doors and inside wiring left and that's it. It's going to be a long project, but i'll eventually get the entire car built.

here's a list of what parts i have now, many many more to come.
