is there a manual tranny for this year? cuase everywhere i look 99 2.4s seem to get the short end of the stick with everything... i have a 4spd, its nice under full accel it doesn't shift till 6500 rpms which is good i guess but im just curouis if there is a compatable manny trans for my engine that if i ever wanted to or needed cuase put in there

NVG-t550 (92-94 HO quad 4), Isuzu (95 quad 4 and 96-99 2.4L), and Getrag (00-02 2.4L). Those are all of the transmissions that will bolt to the LD9 (2.4L). I don't know if they fit in an N-Body though.

yeah the 2.4 could be had with a manual, so could the eco, but not any of the v6's

^ 2.8 and 3.1 both had manual transmission options on the second gens.

not in the Alero Shifted ....... not saying you cant swap it in, but from the factory, the 2.4 and Eco had the manual available. It is pretty easy to swap a manual in with the V6, just need all the parts for a 5 speed Alero, and a trans from a 2200 J-body...... and someone to flash the ECM to erase all the auto peramiters.
