Mine disables the traction control when set to the "2" position. No other way I would have gotten out of the snow a few times this winter. Don't think there's any other way to disable it for reverse. Having the car almost stall out when the tires slip a bit is not great for trying to get unstuck. Has caused me trouble and embarrasment a few times in previous years. No more!!!
lift the ebrake 1 notch and the TC turn off. No need for the shift plus.

Didn't know... Will still come in handy. Driving in snow with the Shift Plus set on "2" isn't good, so I've been having to turn off the car to set the Shift Plus on a saner setting after getting unstuck. THANKS!!!
put the gear selector in either the "1" or "2" position. will also shut off the traction control

Yeah... Knew that. Reverse I couldn't figure out. Thanks though!!!
or own a sunfire and press the ETS switch
My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again
2nd gear is also excellent for keeping control of the car on deep snow and ice.
whoops, i missed the reverse part... i'm an ass
I also noticed that pulling the abs fuse also turns off trac control. Seemed like the car also stops better to. I hate ABS personally.

Yeah, it uses the same wheel speed sensor, so I would assume it's controlled by the same chip.
Turning off ABS is fine, but only if you're 100% confident you know how to control the vehicle in a skid.
3 of my cars were without ABS and I thought that they were much more controlable in the inclimate weather.

I grew up driving my parents 97 Saturn SL1, and though the same thing when I bought my z24. I have never been an ABS fan.
