i dont kno much about trannys but can someone help me. every time i push in the clutch and shift into 5th, i hear a grinding noise, any ideas?? my brother suggested changing the fluid and the synchros might be bad??

what causes them to go bad? how much does it cost to repair? should i get a new tranny or a racing tranny instead? any info would help

im pretty sure its cheaper to rebuild it, i mean synchros cant be too bad, its just labor may be the kicker. and they go bad on their own or just from grinding gears.
