So my 5 spd swap on my 96 cavalier went almost according to plan. Now when I go to turn the key on, the door chime beeps about 10X faster than it normally does, and I am getting no response whatsoever when I turn the key to the run position/start. Does anyone have any ideas???? Need help ASAP!!!!!! This car needs to be done today or else im in deep @!#$.

You have a 96 Cavalier. 2.2 or a 2.4? What year is the transmission off of? Did you only do a swap from an auto to 5 speed or did you do an engine swap as well? Did you change the ECU? Did you change your harness?

Sounds like the auto shift cable switch thinks its in gear......... that and you might not have modded the Park/Neutral switch that was on the auto trans (need to connect purple and yellow wires together, if it was a 4 speed)
