3 speed auto to 4 speed auto swap
Saturday, September 23, 2006 8:09 PM
Question is I know i can swap my 2.2OHV for the 2.2L 2200 motor. My next question is I've read alot of the posts on a auto to manual swap to replace the crappy three speed auto I have. I know it's do able takes alot of work and time. But how hard would it be to drop in the four speed auto tranny in place of the three speed. I'd like the manual., but lets face it, auto is nice as a daily driver, and if it's cheaper and easier to put in the four speed auto i'll take it. Thanks.

Shouldnt be that hard change your wiring, ecu, drop the trans, replace with 4 speed etc. etc. about a day or two worth of work and about $650-$750 max in parts.

dont bother
ive had both and its not worth it really
i got better/same gas mileage with the 3spd and 2200 than im getting with a 2.2 and 4 speed

I rather stay with the 3 spd auto, Seems to be a stronger transmission.
