Like the title says, will a second gen (94 2.2)'s 3spd auto work in a 96 2.2? I had the impression that they were the same for all years and that they were inerchangeable...is that correct?
Actually, it is almost right but wont work properly. For all those doing this save yourself some time and trouble and get the 95+ transmission. The main problem is that the gear selector linkage is about a half inch too short on the old trans and either needs the old cables or something because it doesn't select the gear right when you move the shifter. It moves hard and lacks the proper 'clunk' into each position. O well....live and learn I guess....
Can you change the linkage arm?
