My girlfriends dad and I installed a new Spec Stage 1 about 3 months ago. It took us about 5 hours, and for the most part wasn't too stressful. Clutch felt great right after the install and it is grabbing and releasing fine, but the pressure point is right on the floor. Knowing that our cars have a self adjusting pressure point i thought nothing of it, and kept on driving. My cavalier isn't my daily driver but my now and then car, but I have added about 600 miles on the new clutch and the pressure point is still right on the floor. I'm afraid that something is wrong and i really don't want to take the tranny back apart. I was wondering if I forced some fluid through the clutch actuator if that would bring the pressure point out or wondering if anyone else has had the same problem. I'm thinking that if it doesn't come out it will probably burn my new clutch plate up. Help would be greatly appreciated.
has it always been near the floor or was it near the mid or top when you first finished the install? if so it could be the pressure plate bolts have backed themselves out.
14.82 @ 97 mph
No it has always been on the floor. I figured it would be for the first few weeks, because it is a auto-adjusting clutch, but it has stayed this way for over 500 miles. If i barely move my toes this thing is gone. I mean its fun for a quick take off but not for driveablility.
