Hey everyone I have the 3 speed auto in my cavalier........ heard it can be made a decent tranny but whats it gonna take? I mean in order to keep up with the 5 speed cavs whats it gonna take for my tranny to stay in the ballpark with them? Also was wonderin if a shift kit and tranny rebuild would be enough to do it

Stock Torque Converters, 3 Speed Gears and more , by me. It contains information concerning parts availability for the TH125C/3T40.

i know this is way off topic but how much hp u puttin down madjack?? because im thinkin about doin the same type of things to my car that uve done to urs and i thought with the mods u had goin i figured u to be atleast in the 14s im just wonderin really if its the tranny holdin that car back

I also am in need of help...I have a 96 Fire with a 2.2 3spd and a blown motor and a new (used) 2.2 3spd from a 94 cavalier. My question is this.... Are they the same tranny from the 2nd and 3rd gen J's? Can I just put the whole engine and tranny from the 94 in the 96?
