ok i have done searches and i found out very little of what i want to know. here is my question
1. what is a 4t40e? is that the transmission it self?
2. i am hopeing to be boosted by the end of the year will i need that transmission and a cooler?
3. how much of a PITA is it to change a tranny?

4t40e is the designation of the trans.

4 being number of gears
t being transverse mounted
40 being torque capacity
e being electronically controlled


2. You already have that trans and a trans cooler off ebay will work. You just need the proper fittings for the lines.


3.You don't need to change the tranny unless it is bad. But it's a pain if you don't know what you are doing. 4 hour job for the experienced.
