I am in the process of doing a motor swap in my car, and when I went to take the SPEC Stage 2 clutch off of my old motor (which only has 10K on it) I noticed the the clutch disc looked funny. Where the inside metal part meets the kevlar disc on the outer part, it is riveted together. It appears that the outer part twisted slighty and pulled the rivets somewhat loose. So I can take the outer part and twist it an 1/8" inch or so without the inner part moving. Is that normal?! And if not, is it covered under warranty?? Thanks.

Also, I noticed just before I pulled my motor, if I let the car coast, and then hit the gas, a pretty loud clunk noise would come from the front of the car. It sounded like it was coming from the tranny area. The diff in my NVG tranny feels a bit sloppy, but maybe it is supposed to be like that. I can't tell. Would the disc problem make that noise I wonder? I will try and get some pics of it tomorrow. Hopefully I can figure that out because this weekend is the only days I have off of work, so I have to get my car done then.

disc is @!#$, depending on how long ago you bought it, should be covered under warrenty.

I'm pretty sure the warranty isnt too long. But, get ahold of SPEC and ask them.
warranty is only 90 days if i remeber correctly... I had my springs in the center of the clutch go bad they were pretty much like oh well your loss.
Damn, just got off of the phone with SPEC. They were surprisingly very nice. They said to send in the disc and within a few days, they will have it fixed up and shipped back to me for no charge. Hopefully they keep their word. Bummer I won't have a car for another week :-(

Well, I just noticed that there is also a crack in the inner disc. I will call tomorrow. I wonder if you can buy just a replacement disc without buying a clutch package. Anyone know?
