OK, before I get blasted.... I DID A SEARCH...lol.
One quick easy question that I cant find an answer to. In my 1st gen 'Hawk,(automatic tranny) I installed a 2nd gen 2.0 N/A. Now Im thinking of going to the 3.1 or 3.4. Will my first gen tranny bolt up? Do they use the same bellhousing for the old 2.0s and the V6s is what Im asking.... or will I need to find a donor with the engine/ tranny still together?

The bolt pattern and TC are the same on the 2.0L/2.2L/2200 and the 60* V6s(2.8L/3.1L/3.4L/3400). It will work with those V6s.
thanks madjack

Clarification on this-
The 2.0OHC and 2.0OHV (two totally different engines) have dfferent bellhousing bolt patterns. Cavaliers use a 2.0OHV, while Pontiacs use the OHC (both turbo and N/A). The OHV pattern is the same as the ones madjack listed, while the OHC pattern is different from everything else in the GM lineup. The only thing a 2.0OHC trans will bolt to is a 2.0OHC.
I concure with James.....
If you have a 2.0 OHV, then it will work..... if you have a 2.0 SOHC, then it will not
