has anyone changed the gear ratio's in a 4spd? (4T40E)


if it has been done, where can i get the gears from?

If you want new gears, find a transmission shop that carries TranStar Industries. The catalog listed doesn't tell you what the ratios are though. You can also look up the RPOs for the 4T40E for the different ratios and get the differential from a salvage yard.

Could you design a different combo torque converter. Clicky
I wonder if you could you use a 4T65E converter in a J-body. I mean it is physically the same size right! And it is built better.
