ok first off ive never written a how to before..nor do i claim to have done this the "perfect" way..but i did get it done and it turned out pretty well and only took me an hour at most(after i got the diff out mind you)i was working with a muncie 282 off a w41 achieva..so i dont know how similar this will be for others..but maybe itll help
Also i would like to thank Brian( SpeedRacerZ) of team green for making such a great product..he very easy to get ahold of and very quick to ship..not many people out there that are this nice to deal with..THANKS BRIAN!
so here are some pics i thought you guys might want to see to help you out some or any point in your install......
first..here is a pic of the item you will recieve, its not ALL you will recieve but its all youll end up leaving in the tranny
and here is what your diff will look like once you pull it out and set it on a table
and this is the empty space where your new pretty insert will be going
next i simply took the insert assembled as it is pictured above, put some rags around it and clamped it down with a vice..then i simply applied the brackets using the allen head pins that came with the insert..once this is done you can take it out of the vice and it will be ready for install
next the large gear pictured had to come off..simply remove the bolts(15mm) turn it upside down and tap around on it with a hammer till it comes off...then you will need to remove the pin holding the bar in place(please bear with me i dont know the technical name for alot of these parts
)
you will need to use a punch from the bottom end of the diff to knock it out..
also..if yours is the same as mine you will need to remove the vss ring..as you can see it was in the way...there is a groove on each end to use a pry bar and gently pop it off..its not hard
then the pin will come all the way out
after you get that pin out the bar will slide back fairly easy..now all you need to do is insert your lsd as pictured and slide the bar back in and re-install the holding pin..sorry about pic quality on this guys i was using my cell phone so i hope you can make it out
now simply remove the allen pins on each side and allow the insert to expand..it wont go very far nor will it take much to remove it but it holds tight so dont expect it to move after youve taken the pins out
and ofcourse here is a pic of the final product ready for re-installation
Damn, thanks for the write up man.. Looks good.. Can't wait to get this for my 4spd(coughcough) hehe..

I've never seen a tranny apart in real life, so this may be a dumb question...
Is the differential housing cut like that from the factory? The edges look ragged (or maybe it's the pix?)...
Thanks for the write up, tho.
I'm trying to find one like this for the Isuzu... heh,heh...

Is there anything that has to be replaced when breaking open the tranny?
DRIVE HARD OR DONT DRIVE AT ALL!!!
i was wondering how do you lock the tranny in gear to aid in getting the bolt out?

when opening the getrag there is a cup looking cover over the 2 10mm bolts covering the shift rails..this large round cover is visible from inside the bell housing...this part is a required replacment..it must be pryed out and a new one installed when you put it back together
its in now, used the old dead clutch to hold the shaft from spinning
a impact helps ALOT, right Brian?
to bad its sold now, would have been a awesome place for us to "tinker"
