ever sense i have had my 98 z24 i have heard a weird grinding noise when i downshift and step on the gas...its a soft humming type of noise, i have had a new engine and clutch kit installed nad it still makes this noise....some people tell me its transmission fluid and i have not checked that yet but im sure they topped it off when i got the engine put in last week. any ideas??

Possibly some worn spider gears in the differential.
ok wait NOW THE TRANNY BLEW ....i was just cruisin and it shifts fine as hell, but once i am in gear driving it sounds like complete HELL......pretty sure i need a new tranny....even thou the tranny did have oil in it i checked it 2 days ago when my FAN WENT in my car. OK so how much shoul di be looking at to spend on this here....the only shop open quoted me a grand which is outrageous.
